They have decided that they need an additional assessment on the technical management and the SLA. You have been assigned the task of providing DSI Executive Management with an assessment of the management requirements and the provisions of the SLA for the chosen cloud vendor. You are to: 1. This section should be no more than two to three pages in length. Answers: Introduction The spatial information technology plays an important role in cloud server management. In case of an emergency or disaster such as earthquake, tornado etc. the spatial information theory can be applied to response immediately in managing the disaster. The resources of the cloud that are shared to its users needs to be allocated in such a way that the user can access these resources from any geographical location (da Cunha Rodrigues et al., 2015). The resources are managed efficiently using different management mechanism such as management system of SLA , remote administration system, payment management system and resource management system. This report gives a view of spatial information in details to handle emergency conditions and sharing big data files across the users. The architecture of the cloud system is also shown in this report. Requirement of remote administration Remote administration system is used by the internal and external administrator to provide the interface and a set of tools for the management and administration of cloud based resources. A portal can be used by the remote administrator to manage the resources, bills and other SLA documents (AH et al., 2013). The application program interface and the tools used by the cloud administrator to monitor the status, performance and usage of the cloud service, managing the cost, tracking the access etc. In some cases the cloud consumers also want to work with remote administration. Sometimes the cloud consumer wants to work with remote administration service, this incurs an additional cost on the cloud service provider to develop an application program interface (Dinh et al., 2013). Remote administration using VPN Virtual private network (VPN) can be used by the remote administrator to manage the network resources. A strong backbone of dual band network is required for VPN, the first channel is dedicated for the administrator for sending and receiving administrative packets and the second channel is used to send and receive normal data packets from the user (Alfano et al., 2014). The headquarters can be connected to its branch offices remotely via the VPN efficiently and securely. Using VPN in remote administration has an advantage; a problem can be solved remotely by the cloud administrator through the dedicated channel of the administrator. Resource management Cloud plays an important role in resource management or ensuring the reliability of the cloud. Some strategy has been adopted by the cloud service provider for the management of the resources like pre copy approach policy, just in time resource allocation, match making and scheduling and linear scheduling strategy (Erdil, 2013). Pre copy approach: In this strategy the source memory is copied at a regular interval of time to the destination memory. This slows down the system and this causes a negative impact on the user as the fetching time of data increases and the user has to wait for the data (Rasmi Vivek, 2013). Just in time resource allocation: This technique is used to reduce the standby time of the machine. Different time intervals are set to the resources that changes according to the work load on the system. Load balancers used for this type o resource allocation techniques (Grozev Buyya, 2016). Matchmaking and scheduling: This technique a resource table is used from where a pool of data is fetched and assigns it to the different processes on the job. Linear scheduling strategy: This is an algorithm that keeps track on the increase of selected quality of service parameters. The resources are distributed among the users and the QoS are increased (Manvi Shyam, 2014). SLA management SLA is the blueprint of the cloud service provider, it stands for Service Level Agreement and act as a contract agreement between the customer and the cloud service provider. The SLA document has different terms and conditions that is required to be fulfilled by a company providing cloud service. The resources used in building the infrastructure and the details of the architecture are given in the SLA document to make the user know about the resources. A good SLA should have some criteria that it should meet. The details regarding data security, data recovery, location of data, data availability, and performance should be clearly given in the SLA (Moreno-Vozmediano et al., 2013). It is possible or a cloud server to go down but it is also possible to build a highly reliable cloud server using premium backup service. The SLA document should mention all the details to the customer and it depends on the customer that which service he would choose and security levels and action taken by t he service provider in case of any failure and the time taken to recover should be mentioned in the service level agreement (Wu et al., 2012). Cloud computing systems with the involvement of new technology like the spatial data infrastructure have an important role on the current economy. Using spatial data infrastructure virtualization technology can be adopted and thus eliminating the need of using centralized database. The resources used in distributed spatial information system should have good interconnectivity and should be able to communicate with each other. An emergency condition such as any disaster or any administrative failure can be managed using spatial data infrastructure by accessing and achieving the cloud service. Data backup in the cloud services A huge storage space is provided by the cloud service provider for its user to store more data in the cloud servers and have accessibility to it from any geographical location. The cloud service provides a flexible plan for its users that is a user can increase its storage space if required on the click of a mouse. The data is stored in the cloud servers redundantly as backup, in case of any disaster the data is backed up from different servers to its original form. The data are first encrypted and then send to the storage locations (Thomas et al., 2013). In case of any failure the recovery time taken by the cloud servers is more than traditional backup systems since there is a limitation of the bandwidth that the user uses for cloud computing. If larger volume of data is to be restored from the cloud the server hosting the data sends it through some portable medium for faster and reliable transfer of data. Cloud serves have an advantage over traditional backup system that is the mai ntenance cost of cloud system is zero and more flexible option is provided by the cloud server (Nguyen eta l., 2013). To increase the storage capacity of a traditional backup system a new hardware is required to be added to the system but in case of cloud system extra storage can be added on extra cost. Deployment Model There are many deployment models in cloud computing such as public model, private model and hybrid mode (Hsu et al., 2014). Analyzing all the models it can be said that the hybrid model of cloud computing is the best model suitable for an organization. The hybrid model is the combination of community and public cloud systems and uses software as a platform to have a connection between them (Beloglazov et al., 2012). This model has increased security as it uses strong firewalls applications within the cloud. This model is used for both public and private hosts and restricts the user to access unauthorized data and files. Large volumes of data can be managed efficiently using the hybrid model (Weiyan et al., 2014). Risk Management Migrating to another cloud service platform can cause loss of a huge amount of data. Some of the risk can be identified such as internal system issue, migration error, connectivity error, usage of wrong methodology, insufficient system configuration and the most important security risk (Adhikari et al., 2012). Some of the user files may get lost due to internal system errors like system error, storage error or processor error. If the system has a good health then also some risk may appear like migration of data from one system may cause data loss (Mamaghani, 2014). If the network connectivity is lost during the transmission of data then also the data may get lost. There may be many ways in which the data may get lost or damaged like due to lack of expertise of the worker and wrong technique used for file handling. The whole system may get corrupt if improper file handling is used or any wrong software is installed in the system (Azarnik et al., 2013). Sometimes the system used by the client may not have the configuration to support the cloud architecture, this causes a lag in the system during migration of large files and the files may be lost (Zissis Lekkas, 2012). The most dangerous risk is the security issue in cloud computing during migration of data. The cloud servers are prone to security threats; there may be risk of security during migration also (Younis Kifayat, 2013). External agents may try to breach the security and access the important data of the organization (Gellman, 2012). They can also delete some important files or change some files that can lead to a massive loss for the organization (Ackermann et al., 2012). Some third party agents or rival company may also try to access the resources of the company to extract the internal information. Hackers can have access to the files and either deletes them or encrypts them and demands a lump sum of amount from the company to decrypt the files (Chen Zhao, 2012). There is other risk regarding the migration of data like the failure of the cloud servers, poor service and fraud cloud service provider but these are less important and can be resolved easily (Beloglazov Buyya, 2013). Conclusion There are many security threats which a cloud service provider is exposed to. There are also many weak points of cloud system and to overcome this various risks are identified and their management techniques are evolved. The cloud service provider are aware of their service and the have taken many precaution to avoid loss of data and increasing the security of the cloud storage system. By using different backup and recovery techniques the risk can be reduced to a certain level. By implementing the SLA document transparency between the cloud service provider and the client is maintained. Cloud service is cheap in comparison with traditional backup system and day by day its reliability is increasing as its flaws are getting reduced. The primary aim of this report is to analyze the utility and the management techniques used in cloud computing. Aphrodite was a jealous goddess, but she was also passionate. Not only did she love the men and gods in her life, but her sons and grandchildren, as well. Sometimes her possessive instincts led her too far. When her son Cupid found a human to love one whose beauty rivaled hers Aphrodite did all in her power to thwart the marriage. How Cupid and Psyche Met Psyche was worshiped for her beauty in her homeland. This drove Aphrodite mad, so she sent a plague and let it be known the only way the land could get back to normal was to sacrifice Psyche. The king, who was Psyches father, tied Psyche up and left her to her death at the hands of some presumed fearsome monster. You may note that this isnt the first time in Greek mythology that this happened. The great Greek hero Perseus found his bride, Andromeda, tied up as prey for a sea monster. Andromeda was sacrificed to appease Poseidon who had ravaged the country of Ethiopia, which was ruled by her father after Queen Cassiopeia had boasted about her own beauty. In the case of Psyche, it was Aphrodites son Cupid who released and married the princess. The Mystery About Cupid Unfortunately for the young couple, Cupid and Psyche, Aphrodite was not the only one trying to foul things up. Psyche had two sisters who were as jealous as Aphrodite. Cupid was a wonderful lover and husband to Psyche, but there was one odd thing about their relationship: He made sure Psyche never saw what he looked like. Psyche didnt mind. Knowing their sister well, they preyed on her insecurities and persuaded Psyche that her husband was a hideous monster. Psyche assured her sisters they were wrong, but since shed never seen him, even she started having doubts. Psyche decided to satisfy the girls curiosity, so that night she took a candle to her sleeping husband in order to look at him. Cupid Deserts Psyche Cupids angelic form was exquisite, so Psyche stood there gawking at her husband with her candle melting. While Psyche dawdled, ogling, a bit of wax dripped on her husband. Human rights in Pakistan Essay Pakistan’s human rights situation is a complex one, as a result of the countrys diversity, large population, its status as a developing country and a sovereign, Islamic republic as well as an Islamic democracy with a mixture of both Islamic and colonial secular laws. The Constitution of Pakistan provides for fundamental rights, which include freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of information, freedom of religion, freedom of association, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly and the right to bear arms. These clauses are generally respected in practice. Clauses also provide for an independent Supreme Court, separation of executive and judiciary, an independent judiciary, independent Human Rights commission and freedom of movement within the country and abroad. Although the government has enacted measures to counter any problems, abuses remain. Furthermore, courts suffer from lack of funds, outside intervention, and deep case backlogs that lead to long trial delays and lengthy pretrial detentions. Many observers inside and outside Pakistan contend that Pakistan’s legal code is largely concerned with crime, national security, and domestic tranquility and less with the protection of individual rights. Josh Novak who owns a small company called Glow Foods, have been selected to be apart of International Foods Group (IFG) team. IFG Tower was Chicago landmark and part of the company’s logo that appeared at every type of food that existed such as cereal box, breakfast meals, snack foods, etc. There are a lot of differences between Glow Foods, and IFG. In addition, John Ahern (CIO) would like to add more customers to IFG, merging the two Glow Foods and IFG. The goal is to attract the youth and young adult markets in IT. Josh was called to meet up with John Ahern and Tonya (manager of IT marketing) to talk. They started to talk about baseball teams, and the weather. Later on, John started to get to business; John summarized that since they took over Glow Foods they completely thought of arranging their processes including IT. They did not see a reason to run separate data centers. They picked a team to transfer all of Glow Foods’ hardware and software to their corporate systems in a month. Also change their entire Mac’s to PC’s, train employees on ERP system, and keep a small team to deal with Canadian issues. With that being said, IFG’s market their products to women with children and would like to expand and market their products to youths and young adults. John Ahern chose Josh Novack to help grab the youth and young adult customers. There is a team that will help Josh with this project stationed in Chicago. Josh is now the team manager at IFG and in charge of this project to be implemented and result in success. Six weeks after Josh started; he was called to come to Tonya’s office to discuss a few things. Since not everyone in the company is encouraging there will be some serious obstacles to overcome that will need to be discussed and that is both within the IT and the larger company. Each boss that a person will have all have different expectations to their employees, as they all have different management style, rules, and personality. In reality, there are also expectations of the general work that a person will do, the environment in which they will be working at and the way th at they will be interacting with others in workplace. Common expectations are being on time to scheduled work, following supervisor’s directions, maintaining a positive attitude at all times, treat everyone around you with respect, being responsible, and doing your roles. Having all of the information in hand will help the team gain some support. Also, think of all of the questions that both John and Rick will ask and look for and include the answers into the plan. This will help gain John and Rick’s support because the ideas were well thought of. In the second stanza of ‘Exposure', Owen uses a clear description of he sound that the wind makes through the barbed wire – â€Å"like twitching agonies of men among its brambles†. The use of simile helps to create the extreme horror of no man's land and connects with the idea of the title ‘Exposure'.Although Who's for the game? Which is composed by Jessie Pope is about a serious topic, he helps us see the bright side to a war. This is done through rhyme. The use of rhyme gives a musical element in the poem and when combined with a serious topic it would feel as if the poem is trying to fire you up to go sign up and fight for your country in war. â€Å"Who'll give his country a hand? And who wants a seat in the stand? † suggests exactly this. Where is the love?

Philosophy Exam Essay

I believe that the quote â€Å"Education makes music out of the noise that fills life† has a broader meaning to it than it first appears. People would first think of simply the context of it and conclude that it makes no sense, however, to me I think it means that through everyday life, knowing and really  understanding  what’s going on and knowing how to do things really makes everything flow and brings joy to yours and possibly others lives. Education puts together the pieces of life, if you didn’t life wouldn’t seem quite; It’s like music having no notes, having no certain rythm or pattern. It just wouldn’t make sense, but someone who knows music could come along and make the song flow smoothly, which was learnt through education and the will to understand and learn. 2. Philosophy is the love of wisdom. The need to learn and really understand what is going on around you and in your life. It’s knowing who you are and realizing what’s really important. There is no way of avoiding philosophy, it’s in peoples everyday lives. Everyday, even if you don’t notice it you are making an ethical decision or spotting someone else doing something morally wrong and stepping in; or you could be thinking about your life and making some changes and thinking of what’s really important. Without philosophy, you would never truly know yourself. 3. In â€Å"The Apology† written by Plato, Socrates really embodies the definition philosophy as â€Å"philo-sophia†. The term â€Å"philo-sophia† literally means the love of wisdom; and in â€Å"The Apology† Socrates is sacrificing himself for wisdom. He is being true to himself even when put on a death sentence and speaking for his life, he says the honest truth. As quoted by Socrates â€Å"and he only gives you the appearance of happiness, and I give you the reality. †. He always spoke what was right and even when people accused him of being crazy, he never was shaken by these comments. Even when he knew by saying such things may lose him votes, he said what was knowledgable and true. Quote by Socrates â€Å"I shall never alter my ways, not even if I have to die many times†¦ †. He gave wisdom to those around him in with his last breaths, and had no regrets. 4. Making an assertion, is much different from making an argument. When you make an assertion you are stating something and automatically saying there is no way you’re wrong. You’re saying your opinion without evidence or reasoning to back it up and prove you’re right. While making an argument is suggesting at the same time as stating your opinion  with  evidence and reason to back it up. One argument I remember in class is is if love is the only rational act. Many people believed it wasn’t the only rational act, but in my opinion it is. Real love is feeling the same way about another person endlessly and unconditionally. You see their flaws and still love them, waiting for them and spending time with them isn’t a burden to you. You enjoy time in the  now  when you are with them and you care for them as much as you care about yourself. Love is the only thing that seperates us from all other living things. 5. Knowledge is something all philosophers seek. It is a properly justified true belief. There are two components to knowledge; The first is belief. This is an important component to knowledge because beliefs make up who are, they chart our everyday lives and if we didn’t believe something, we wouldn’t do it and it wouldn’t be knowledge. The second component is truth. If the thing you believe isn’t true, than it is not knowledgable nor is it a proper belief. that is why, knowledge is a  properly justified  belief. 6. It is impossible to be an absolute skeptic because skeptics doubt everything and question everything. So, how can a skeptic be sure of his words? Without believing that his words are truer than others, he can’t even formulate his questions or challenges. If they didn’t believe anything, wouldn’t they have to believe that? Believe that nothing is true and that they themselves don’t believe anything? Therefore, it is impossible. Belief is inevitable in life. 7. I believe the quote â€Å"When you want to believe in something you also have to believe in everything that’s necessary for believing it† means that to truly believe something, you have to believe everything that comes along with it. Every detail and reason to why that belief is true, you also have to believe it. It relates to world view because a worldview is all of   your beliefs all compiled into one big belief of everything. In order to truly believe in your worldview, you have to believe everything else about it. A personal belief I have that illustrates this is my belief that Heaven is real. In order for me to truly believe it’s real I also have to believe in God, and in order to believe in god I have to believe that Satan is real, which would also require I believe there is a Hell. Which would also lead to believing that when you die you truly are judged for your life. One belief comes with many others. 8. â€Å"Is it correct? †, â€Å"Is it complete†, and â€Å"Is it coherent† are the three tests to measure a persons worldview. If you omit any of these tests, your worldview wouldn’t be true. You would damage your worldview or end up making it completely destroyed. 9. The Principle of Belief and Conservation are reasons why you should and/or shouldn’t believe something/ a proposition. Taking a stand towards a belief would require you doubting a lot of your current beliefs; you have no good reason or doubt all these beliefs; and no compelling reason to take a stand on the new proposition. When they beliefs pass their own test, everyone believes it to be true because there isn’t a way anyone can prove different. The Principle of Belief and Conservation cannot be used when trying to prove that Sense experience, Memory, or Testimony is true. It can only prove Basic Beliefs. 10. What William James meant by â€Å"Precursive Faith† is not just sitting back and waiting for the world to show us what is really true. You have to believe before you have evidence that is is really true, you must embrace all the truth you can. Taking this more positive approach will open you up to new things and experiences and discovering more beliefs. A time I had to use precursive faith was when I was little, even though now it doesn’t seem like a big deal, to me it was then. I had a pet fish I loved a lot and it got sick, and to cure it we had to give it this medicine that could either save its life or make the death come faster. I had to believe it would work, because if I didn’t do it my fish would die; and even though it could cause its death, it could also save it. So we gave the medicine to it and thankfully it cured the sickness. If I didn’t take this leap of faith, I would have lost something important to me. 11. The Virtue Theory relates to the idea of teleology for the human life because the virtue theory is if you are interested in true happiness, you must aim for all the virtues, which are certain charasteristics all human beings have. Encouraging and having these qualaties lead to human flourishing and a truly good and happy person. it relates too teleology because it is when you do something good and you hit the target and you fufilled your purpose, which in the end would make you happy. Therefore, when portraying one of the virtues that are necessary into being happy, and something good coming out of it you are â€Å"Hitting the target† and you are a good person. 12. A truly virtuous action must consider the motive, the action, and the context because in order for it to be truly good you must be aiming for something good and expecting something good. If you are being kind, only to get something you want is not virtuous. If you are being Loving someone just for there money, or you are saving a cat from a tree just so people can see you as a good person; it is not truly virtuous and doesn’t make you a good person. 13. â€Å"Money buys Happiness†   is not true in my opinion. Although money may buy you expensive things you want, food you love, the newest trend that â€Å"you must have† because everyone has it, it won’t make you truly happy. You may be happy when you get it, but does it really make you a happier person? You can’t buy your way through life, you can’t buy things and expect people to love you and really want to be with you. They may act like it, but not for you, for your money. When you are lonely and need someone to talk to, can you really buy someone who truly wants to listen and be there for you? Can you buy a wife or husband who will truly love you? No, and without affection and care from others, you cannot live a truly happy life. 14. I think the three most important characteristics of a philosopher are Openness, Truthfulness, and Boldness. A philosopher has many beliefs and has any of his or her own reasons to believe them, but if another person says something which makes more sense than what they believed, they must have  openness  and listen and possibly believe this new idea. The things philosophers believe must be true and have a good reason behind it, and when asked philosophers must state their true belief and have true reason behind it; that is why Philos ophers must havetruthfulness. Lastly, Philosophers must have  boldness  because if everyone else goes against his or her opinion, he musn’t back down just because the majority disagrees. He has to be bold and confident and stand for his ideas if he has better reason to believe so. 15. Plato stated that â€Å"Philosophy begins with Wonder†. I think he stated this because without wonder, nobody would have questions. And without questions, nobody would have anything to have an opinion; which would result in nobody striving for truth. And philosophy without truth isn’t complete. Two things I wonder about which spark philosophical reflection are, what is truly good, and what is my purpose in life.
